Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic Puts The Squeeze On Eight Channels At Once
Crystal clear preamplification by itself doesn't a professional recording make. That's why Focusrite has updated its smartly designed eight-input Octopre with the new Focusrite Octiopre MKII Dynamic (pricing TBA).
Like the Octopre, the MKII Dynamic features eight Focusrite preamps, but then adds VCA-based compression on each channel. These compression circuits emulate the sound and behavior of the high-end Focusrite Red 3 compressor with a soft-knee curve and subtle, musical ratio. By engaging the "more" switch, that ration is doubled for more intense compression.
The Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic basically adds eight mini channel strips to any interface or audio device with an optical ADAT input. The unit handles its own AD conversion (up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution) and boasts the same jitter-elimination features on the Saffire Pro range of interfaces. Ocotpre MKII Dynamic even features twin sets of ADAT outputs, so you can send the same signal to two separate devices, simultaneously.
Availability on the Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic is TBA.
