Memphis was once a prestigious cultural and administrative center of Egypt, a virtual melting pot of ideas and concepts. This once-great ancient city was also known as "Ankh Tawy" ("That which binds two lands). In much the same manner, Fryette Amplification begun what is known as the Memphis series, amplifiers that bridges the musical expression and stylistic diversity altogether. To launch the series, this lineage of amplifiers begins with the Fryette Memphis Thirty, a 30-watt 1X12 combo amplifier that makes its introduction at Summer NAMM 2009.

Being true to its name, the Memphis Thirty is truly an expert in bridging two diverse things together such as dual channels, channel-assignable power switching, and series/parallel effects loop. This amp is also armed with a tube driven Accutronics spring reverb. To start off, the Memphis Thirty's two channels are the Clean and Drive Channels. The Clean channel can be controlled via four knobs with namesake functions: Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass. The Drive channel can be manipulated via the Gain, Master Volume, Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs. All of these are located in the front panel along with the input port, Reverb, Channel Select, and Power Shift Select switches.

The rear panel offers essential features as well as additional options. Impedance is selectable between 4 and 8 Ohms with two parallel output jacks. There is also a 16-Ohm speaker jack if you want to run your amp through a larger cabinet. Also available in the rear panel are a line out jack, footswitch jack for efficient channel switching, loop bypass switch, series/parallel switch , loop level switch and control, and loop return and send jack. Preamp tubes include one 12AX7 Tung-Sol (Russia), four 12AX7Acs, and one 12AT7. The power amp section has four premium matched Sovtek EL84 power tubes.
