Furman P-1800 PF R, Furman P-1800 AR And Furman P-1400 AR E Bring Prestige To Winter NAMM 2009
Winter NAMM 2009 is still over two months away, but Furman has already announced that its Prestige Series is kicking off with three new products: the P-1800 PF R Power Conditioner, P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator and P-1400 AR E Export Voltage Regulator.
The P-1800 PF R succeeds Furman's PF-Pro R as Furman's musician-minded power management module. Using their internally developed Power Factor and Clear Tone Technologies, Furman built this piece so that amps sound great on any stage. It also lends itself to studio use, powering monitors just as well.
The Power Factor Technology provides a 45-A peak current reservoir, which cuts down AC line impedance to give more headroom to your amps and speakers. Clear Tone Technology lowers your noise floor with another level of linear filtration. This unmasks the tonal character by getting AC line noise out of the way.
The P-1800 AR takes the torch from the AR-15 II Voltage Regulator to provide consistent 120 V output on input voltages from 97-137 V AC. It uses True RMS Auto Regulation Technology, an ultra-low noise, microprocessor-controlled, eight-tap, toroidal autoformer. While that phrase grows more and more esoteric by the word, it means that you'll get quieter operation for listening and recording applications.
Lastly, the P-1400 AR E is like the P-1800 AR, but it's catered for voltages outside the U.S., selectable between 220 and 240 V. It offers stability, IEC outlets and a detachable Shucko power cord, rounding out the first three Prestige line products for 2009.
A few things will be common to all Prestige models. They all look fairly similar with new industrial designs, and their feature sets all include a convenient outlet on the front panel and a USB charger for media devices like mp3 players and cell phones. The P-1800 series products have eight rear-panel outs and spaced outputs to give room to bulky transformers. The P-1400 AR E has 10 back-panel IEC outlets. Any way you slice it, Furman's resolving to reduce noise pollution.
