A few months ago, Genelec Oy -- a leading manufacturer or studio reference monitors -- launched a web site for its users and fans called the Genelec Community. The site aims to promote discussions between users and fans about their experiences using Genelec products, as well as general studio techniques and experiences. Over 800 members have been reached by the site since its launch on April 1, 2009 (no kidding), and the numbers are growing rapidly as we speak. . . though maybe not as rapidly as Genelec would like.

Genelec Oy has launched a video competition to help promote the forums, with a 6010A / 5040A 5.1 surround system as the main prize. The competition is open to all individuals who have registered in the Genelec Community. Details regarding the competition are available via the Genelec Community Web Site.

As further development of the community depends on membership, Genelec Oy is encouraging all Genelec users as well as those who have experienced Genelec's range of products to sign up. The Genelec Community provides an efficient medium for exchange of information between users and fans and permits direct inquiries to Genelec with regard to their line of products. As with all projects, Genelec is working on new ideas all the time. With the new community web site, Genelec will receive ideas and suggestions from its worldwide base of users. Musicians, producers, and other users of music products make use of the internet anyway so better sign up for the latest information with regard to Genelec.
