Gibson DG-335 Inspired By Dave Grohl Guitar Released

Gibson DG-335

Gibson has announced the Dave Grohl DG-335, the latest addition to their Inspired By series. The DG-335 is a result of Dave Grohl's input and the ingenuity of the Gibson Custom Shop artisans.

The DG-335 Inspired By Dave Grohl looks fabulous in terms of both the colour (Pelham Blue) and the shape. A Firebird-style headstock perches atop the ES-335 semi-hollow body. The body also includes diamond style f-holes and a double cutaway style body. The rosewood fretboard features acrylic split diamond inlays - styaying true to the original Trini Lopez model that Dave favors.

The pickups are both Burstbuckers with a Burstbucker 1 in the neck position and a Burstbucker 2 in the bridge. These Burstbuckers fall within the original Patent Applied For humbucking spec, perfect for that high clarity distortion characterized by Foo Fighters songs.

Here's a rundown of the features:

  • Model: DG-335
  • Pickups: Burstbucker 1 (neck); Burstbucker 2 (bridge)
  • Hardware: Chrome
  • Fingerboard: 22-fret rosewood with split diamond inlay and white binding
  • Scale: 24-3/4"
  • Nut Width: 1-11/16"
  • Bridge: ABR-1 and stop tailpiece
  • Neck Material: Rounded neck profile
  • Body Material: Laminated maple top, back, rims
  • Controls: 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way selector switch
