Gibson Dusk Tiger: New Guitar Introduced With Tiger-Like Finish
Just introduced this week, the new Gibson Dusk Tiger already has guitarists swooning and chomping at the bit to get what Gibson calls the most innovative guitar in the history of music.
The Dusk Tiger further expands the feature set offered by the Dark Fire, adding improved versatility of tone, playability, and ease of use. It also looks amazing. The new guitar retains the Les Paul-inspired body lines, while coupling them with a flat top made from an exotic hardwood in tiger-like inclusions of gold, amber, and dark chocolate hues. The top has a tone-chambered back and an interesting new pick guard and control layout.
Beneath its pretty exterior, the Dusk Tiger offers programmable active four-band parametric EQ systems for both the magnetic and the piezo pickups, fine tuning your tone. It also features the switchable LP-Z High Definition Impedance circuit (with low-impedance capabilities) built into an improved Neutrik jack with both ¼-inch and XLR outputs.

Finally someone put a parametric EQ in a high end guitar. Can't begin to say how invaluable this is for a free lance guitar slinger. Sometimes you never know what your backline amp will be. This gives you some nice tweakability without carrying around 3 or 4 insturments. I will look forward to test driveing this at my local music store.

Last Year's Dark Fire also has the identical onboard stereo Parametric EQ.
Hopefully they will finally ship the Mac/PC PEQ Editor for both Dusk Tiger and Dark Fire - so we can tweak our own EQ curves to taste at the last minute.
Gibson Dusk Tiger
It's a shame Gibson has forgotten how to make a good sounding guitar (forget about good playing, they haven't a clue). I guess stuffing a bunch of electronics in it to correct for poor tone is one answer. "Exotic hardwood top"? That's the strangest name for plywood I've ever heard! LOL.
Time is running out for Gibson
Gibson keeps blabbing about innovations.
Well they do actually do alot of innovations.
Just simply useless ones.
How long has roland been trying a guitar synth?
I.M.H.O. the sound of a guitar is from the
amp,the strings,pickups,wood, and the player.
If I want to hear a guitar like this, I will
get a good synth, and buy a better guitar.
If gibson made a guitar worth buying, I would have
it plek'd elsewhere, I do not want gibson charging more for what I should not have to pay for.
I think gibson has gotten away with poor manufacturing and poor customer service for so long,
finally they are not getting away with breaking laws by importing illegal woods. Finally someone said enough, and thankfully they waited for Les paul to rest hopefully in peace. He was a great man. Without les, ted mcarty and a few others there would have never been a gibson.
If they go belly up, I do not think anyone would
even care. They are even stooping so low as to make
a gibson Jimi H "strat" hhmm a "gibson strat",
something just does not sound right.
guitars
so friggin true gibson sure is a disappointment
Glad i got my sg in 83

Gimmick guitars
I'm all for innovation and trying something different, so I won't judge this guitar without playing it first. That said, it seems to me that all of this emphasis on technology is taking the axe out of the guitar. My all time favorite Gibson is still my '66 SG Special. Simple, mean and sweet.
Dusk Tiger : Another one bites the dusk
If this isn't a spoof, it sure reads like one, looks like one.
Does that look like te second coming of the LP Recording model tha Less played at Iridium?
LP Recording Model New Tech. Rebirth?
One of my regrets. Is that I sold my 1970's Gibson LP Recording Model that I bought new 20 yrs ago. This Guitar catches my interest for that reason.I would like to give one a try. It made me sick to see that the guitar I sold, was the very Guitar that Les himself chose to play until the very end. If you,re a believer! Just think, Heaven has a great guitar player now! Whose hands are nolonger arthritic. Mary & Les together again. Making heavenly music!! Sorry for all that. Just got kinda sentamental.
LP recording synth guitars
Looks like a recording Les Paul. Never had a Gibson I didn't like. If it is a good as there other Les Paul models have been should be no problem. I prefer the old school style of tone, but a little hi tech might be fun.
