Got an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch? Then why not strum your do-it-all handheld like a guitar with the new Gibson App. This multipurpose, fully interactive guitar application works well for guitarists or any other instrumentalist in need of a fun practice tool.

The Gibson App is essentially a virtual guitar that has the combined features of a real guitar and the enhanced digital tools of a software-based instrument. The app features a traditional chromatic tuner that starts in "All Notes" mode that tracks whatever is played, along with different tuning options on the "Mode" page that make the tuner track only the notes for a particular tuning.

Also included is a simpler kind of tuner that lets you tune to sandard tuning Open G, Open D, and so forth. On iPhones, the Gibson headstock inlay will automatically change color to indicate the string's intonation (sharp, flat, or in tune).

Further, the Gibson app features a standard metronome that allows you to choose a specific tempo in BPM; just tap the screen three times to automatically set the tempo. More than 30 chord charts with finger markings are included, as are video tutorials that provide direct instruction on guitar riffs, licks, or chord sequences.
