Gibson Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited electric guitar combines a classic Les Paul standard body with Robot Guitar automated tuni

What do robots and Les Paul have in common? Both played a major role in the making of the new Gibson Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited electric guitar, which combines Robot Guitar tuning technology with the classic elements of the Les Paul model.

The Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited features Robot Guitar automated tuning capabilities, two different but seminal magnetic pickups, a piezo-loaded bridge, and Chameleon Tone Technology, thanks to its Master Control Knob (MCK). The new electric is said to deliver everything from the raw, biting crunch of a hot, chrome-covered, hum-canceling P-90H in the neck position and the sizzling wail and punch of an overwound BurstBucker 3 in the bridge, to the subtle acoustic response of its piezo bridges saddles. Gibson says that the Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited packs all the tonal colors of the rainbow.

Robot Technology puts the guitar perfectly in tune at the push of a button, or shifts the instrument into a countless number of open and alternate tunings.

With the classic lines of the Les Paul Standard in mind, the Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited has a maple top and chambered mahogany back, with Gibson’s exclusive Fireball finish on the top and Cherry Vintage Sunburst on the back, neck, and sides, all in nitrocellulose lacquer.

The neck is constructed from one solid piece of mahogany, cut a certain way to improve strength and resonance, and glued to the body at the Les Paul’s traditional 5-degree angle (pitch). A traditional headstock sports the Gibson logo and the six Robot Tuners.

What's more, the new guitar is accented by an upgraded set of hardware components designed for maximum tone and function. Its bridge carries individual piezo-pickup-loaded saddles and is accompanied by a new tailpiece engineered for maximum string-to-body coupling. A pair of locking strap buttons keeps things in place.

Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited Features:

  • Robot Tuners System for instant, accurate tuning
  • 60s slim taper neck profile
  • Hum-cancelling P90H neck pickup
  • BurstBucker 3 bridge pickup

  • New battery system gets 500 tunings from a single charge
