Godin Guitars HDR System To Debut On New Velocity Guitar
Discovery Channel isn't the only thing that's better in high-definition. Godin Guitars has announced that it will feature its new High-Definition Revoicer systems on a selection of guitars, starting with their newest guitar the Godin Velocity. Both will be released at the MIAC show in Canada on August 26th and 27th.
The new H.D.R. system allows guitarists to switch between passive and active pickups at the push of a button conveniently located between the volume and tone knobs - a familiar location for controlling pickup selection.
Basically, the High-Definition Revoicer is similar to having two sets of pickups in one guitar. When activated, the High-Definition Revoicer increases the frequency range of each pickup, and it does so without any hum or noise for truly HD sound.
When inactive, the H.D.R. employs true bypass, keeping the integrity of the passive pickups while they're employed as active. If HDTV is any indicator of how the H.D.R. system will sound - it should, by my calculations, sound better than real life.
