Two new instruments have been added to the Gon Bops line of cajons: El Toro and Fiesta. Gon Bops, a percussion instrument manufacturer known for its authentic Peruvian Cajons, developed these new cajons to suit specific segments of the constantly evolving cajon market.

El Toro takes its name from percussionist and educator Efrain Toro, who is widely recognized as one of the finest and most complete percussionists in the world. Made in Peru in the Gon Bops Cajon Shop, the El Toro cajon is crafted from solid Peruvian Mohena hardwood and features inner guitar strings for an authentic Flamenco cajon sound.

According to the manufacturer, El Toro delivers an astonishing range of tone, from snappy highs to deep, resonant lows, partly due to its angled front contour. Large rubber feet ensure that ample bass tones don’t get lost in the floor. Gon Bops notes that since this model is hand-made and tested in Peru by skilled craftsmen, it offers a beautiful sound that will be appreciated by professional-level musicians.

For performers who are looking for a more entry-level model, Gon Bops has also introduced the Fiesta Cajon. As the latest instrument in the company’s Fiesta line of instruments, the Fiesta Cajon is ideal for students and beginners, or for more experienced players who need a second “grab ’n’ go” instrument for gigs or for times when they may not want to travel with high-end models. With adjustable Maple front panel and internal snare wires, authentic Spanish Flamenco tones are a snap to achieve, Gon Bops says. Like Gon Bops' El Toro model, the Fiesta Cajon has large rubber feet ensure that bass tones don’t get lost in the floor.
