Graph Tech GHOST A/M Modular Pickup System: I Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost
Coming from north of the border, Graph Tech sends the GHOST, a modular pickup system that provides full state-of-the-art MIDI compatibility in a simply installed package.
"How does it work?" you may or may not have asked. First, custom-engineered piezo crystals are strategically encapsulated in a set of Graph Tech's patented String Saver Saddles. The GHOST saddle pickups use natural compression very reminiscent to that in an acoustic guitar. That means you can strum as hard as you want without overloading the input channel or making your piezo "quack" like a duck.
The signal is then processed through a modular, plug-in preamp called the Acousti-Phonic. It captures the natural acoustics of your electric guitar without feedback or dealings with mic placement. Furthermore, it enables switching between mono and stereo applications at the plug in of a cable. GHOST can sense which type of cable is plugged in and adjust accordingly. Pretty spooky!
The other modular preamp is the Hexpander Modular Preamp, which contains a proprietary harmonic dampening system. This provides unrivaled tracking and responsive, accurate triggering. It features Graph Tech's exclusive Traktion switch which allows users to modify their tracking curve to better fit their playing style.
