Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Is In Your Face, Especially If You Press Your Face Against Your Computer Screen (Video)
Is this the most extreme hollowbody guitar Gretsch has ever built? The Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Guitar is production rendition of the Baldwin-era Gretsch played by the frontman / guitarist from such seminal Bay Area punk bands as Rancid and Operation Ivy. In fact, the Gretsch Tim Armstrong is a relatively understated axe given its namesake -- it features very few aftermarket mods, inlike Tim himself (dude has the word "BEER" and an inward-facing arrow tattooed on his inner lower lip).
The Gretsch Tim Armstrong Signature Guitar was introduced at Winter NAMM 2010. We spoke with Gretsch's Jim Carducci about the features that make this model, and the guitar it was based on, unique.
