Groove Tubes

Introduced almost a year ago, the Groove Tubes SuPRE is still a formidable presence at the 125th AES Convention, supporting the new mics on display at the Groove Tubes exhibit booth. This box transforms even pedestrian-sounding tracks into heroic final mixes.  

Few things make me more emotional than Herman Hupfeld's classic tune "As Time Goes By." And while I prefer the Perry Cuomo performance to most others, there's something to be said for the version that Aspen Pittman, founder of Groove Tubes, performed into the company's new Velo 8 ribbon mic at the 125th AES. It has been announced that Fender has purchased the Groove Tubes brand. The two companies have been paired together for over a decade, however, as many Fender amps come with Groove Tubes -- so it's almost as if they got married and Fender paid a hefty dowry.
