Guyatone Mighty Micro Pedals Look Like Hot Wheels!
Super-fun-lovers Guyatone have just announced a new line of effects pedals that will remind you of your glory days collecting and racing miniature die-cast VW GTIs and Dodge Chargers on intricate, plastic tracks.
Or not. Either way, we're sure eager to hear these new pedals; the listed features alone are intriguing. The Mighty Micro pedals will sport a durable cast-aluminum housing, sure to protect against more abuse than the average six-year-old can dole out. They'll also feature top-mounted, no-tools battery compartments with "Smart Screws" and something called a "Battery Load Scope" -- which sounds like something a G.I.Joe would tote.
The pedals will also boast true hard bypass switching, glow-in-the-dark washers under the switches for easy visibility (sweet!), rad-looking stomp-bars to protect from accidental adjustments, top-mounted jacks for saving space on crowded pedalboards and input attenuators to make the pedals suitable for any input-signal level.
The first four Mighty Micro pedals will be shipping later September 2008, and will include:
- HDm5 Hot Drive -- Improved version of HD-3 Hot Drive, the HDmS features increased gain sculpting as well as true bypass switching. List Price -- $150.00 MAP -- $127.50
- MDmS Micro Digital Delay -- Improved version of the top-selling MD-3, features 2600 milliseconds of the same great delay tone with the addition of a hi-frequency roll-off control. List -- $225 MAP -- $190
- WRm5 Wah Rocker -- New features include Effect Level and Response controls. Improved frequency response and Dry Blend allows use with Bass Guitar & Keys. List -- $145 MAP -- $122.50
- VTmS Veri-Trem -- Features Effect Level, Speed and Intensity controls as well as selectable sine/ triangle/square oscillator waveforms and hi-end roll-off control. List -- $155 MAP -- $131.50
These effects will probably sound great, but try and keep them in the box. Unopened items are sure to be worth five-times as much in twenty years.
