Hammond's XK-System: B3 on a budget

August 04, 2006
Dennis and Peter from Hammond talk to us a bit about the Pro XK-System, an affordable alternative to the B3. The XK-System is based on the X3 organ, and includes double-stacked keyboards, an easy-to-install foot pedal assembly, and more.
See the Hammond Pro XK-System at the official Hammond Organ website.

PROMO GIRLS: You're watching Gearwire.Com.

DENNIS CAPIGA: Welcome back guys. Now I want to show you our new XK traditional system, and this great for the church market. Now obviously, everybody wants a new B3 but who can really afford one especially with the price of $22,000 to $25,000? At this particular price point, everybody can have a Hammond, okay? And what's great about this? Double manual just like a B3, a 25-note mini pedal board. And if you don't care fo that, a 13-note is also available.

Just like our Pro XK system, we have a very rugged bench, and if you can go over to see here, it now bolts at both ends, assembles quickly, no tools, no technical ability.

Now, let's show you how easy it is to take this piece. First of all notice, this [INDISCERNIBLE] comes out with no [INDISCERNIBLE]. This top has four knob holes, and you lift the top off and it exposes the shell of the XK3. This XK3 can just get off. But notice one special feature of this particular product. It has these two wooden blocks. Why are they there? So that if you wanted to, you can transport your XK3 with the lower manual in the same case pre-wired. It's very, very important. And that, at the job site, you simply unfold your stand and the stand fastens to a lower manual with four knob holes. So, quick, quick setup. You choose the one that fits best for you.
