On the Chicago leg of their Dream Theater Prog Nation Tour, Damon Fox of Bigelf sat down with Gearwire and talked at length about his sweet and extensive keyboard setup. The man plays two keyboards at once, sings and rocks out like an animal, AND wears an awesome hat. We are impressed.  

Sure, it's technically a Melodica and not a Melodion, but this is Hammond we're talking about, and when they do a "blow organ" they're gonna call it whatever they want. Also, they're gonna slap a dynamic microphone in there, just 'cause someone told them they couldn't. That's how Hammond rolls!  

Back with Bob Fossaluzza -- organ master extraordinare for Louisville's The Ladybirds -- we're given a demonstration / comparison between a later, solid-state Leslie, and a pair of mid-50s tube-powered Leslies.  

Surrounded by stacks of Leslies, Anthony Fossaluzza of The Ladybirds demos his Hammond CV tonewheel organ and give us a Hammond-history lesson. As you'd hope and expect from a guy who plays in a Garage-Rock revivalist band, when it comes to classic rock instruments, Mr. Fossaluzza knows his stuff.  

We talk with New Monsoon keyboardist Phil "The Pianimal" Ferlino about his Hammond Leslie setup.
