SFZ Dual-Stage Fuzz Pedal From Hartman Electronics

May 24, 2007
Hartman SFZ

The Hartman Electronics SFZ was announced recently. The pedal features two stages of fuzz, each with its own particular chip for differing tones. The circuits are in series and can be used on their own or together for extreme settings.

Both of the circuits are made to emulate the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, made famous by Jimi Hendrix. The main difference is that the chips in each circuit rely on a different super-conductor. The first, using Silicon transistors, is the BC108. The second is the Germanium-based NKT275. Both are "new old stock" and also have an option for adjustable bias current. You can also add a Mayer-Hendrix modification to the Germanium stage.

Visit the official Hartman site for more details.
