Hercules Home Series Stands: Because Accessories Need Love, Too
DJ Puzzle stops by the Hercules booth at Winter NAMM 2008 to talk stands and instrument safety. Stands may not usually be the most interesting thing in the universe, but Hercules has some nice new features worth checking out including automatically locking guitar stands and steel that feels like wood.
Turning steel into wood? Sounds like witchery to me.
JASON DONNELLY: Hi. This is Jason with Gearwire.Com at Winter NAMM 2008. I'm here at the Hercules Booth. Please tell us your name.
[PH] WEN CHEN: My name is Wen Chen. I'm from Hercules Stands. Nice to meet you.
JASON DONNELLY: Nice to meet you too. So, can you tell us a little bit about Hercules?
[PH] WEN CHEN: Hercules is a stand brand that we set apart from our competitors because we listen to the consumer about what the musician wants. They want light portable stands which is very strong. As you can see, Hercules has always looked very strong, still portable, so that's what sets us apart.
JASON DONNELLY: Great. So, what's new with Hercules? What's like your hottest product right now?
[PH] WEN CHEN: This year, this is our new product. This is called Home Series. The idea is people want to have classic styling of stand but there's not much we can do on the real wood stand, so we kind of we built a steel stand but we invented a special grained finish like you can see on the orchestra stand. They'll feel like real wood but actually they're made of steel. So, we call this a combination of the classic styling and also the cutting edge innovation. This all has the mechanism that I just said that is really popular in the market.
Our hottest product now is always the guitar stand. This product has been in the market for five years, and is selling tons and tons, selling like hotcakes in the worldwide market. What makes it different is this mechanism. When you put the guitar, it locks automatically so you don't need to have any stop or any strap that -- and you don't want to -- you don't worry about your guitar. When you rest a guitar costing $10,000, you don't have to worry. It's worry free. It's very stable. As you can see, the structure is well made and built in with very innovative features.
As you see, our price is very competitive and what consumer needs, what they can get from the features, they pay less than that.
JASON DONNELLY: So there you have it folks, Hercules Stands. Winter NAMM 2008. This is Jason Donnelly with Gearwire.Com.
