Homegrown Sounds Homegrown Piano Homegrown Released
After planting a promising crop of piano seeds in their quaint garden, Homegrown Sounds has sprouted Homegrown Piano. It's based on 88 Steinway B Grand Piano samples, and for piano players, there's just something about the number 88, like two infinity signs stood up against each other, or two beheaded snowmen. The 88 samples were said to be recorded at medium velocity, but that's all relative.
Fitting with HGSounds' binding theme, this piano collection is catered towards ambient and atmospheric music, but it sounds golden when your tracks call for traditional piano. It's stocked with 128 presets that span the gamut of genres and sonic permutations, from standard and brightened pianos to distorted and synthetic sounding presets. It's a piano with the heart of a synthesizer and the potential to reach for the stars.
Homegrown Piano utilizes two duplicate layers, the second of which is highly manipulable. Slightly detune the second layer for a chorus effect or dull or brighten the sounds to achieve some harpsichord-like tones. You can also loop it up, octave shift it or reverse it.
Homegrown Piano also gives you a range of effects including drive, the combined reverb / comb / delay effect of SoundScaper, a flanger / filter with a complex LFO and a BPM synced stereo delay. You have three FX routing modes to choose from and a multi-mode apreggiator as well. Add a Microtuner based off Scala files for a wide range of tuning options. It comes with 300 standard tunings with stretch / shrink capabilities.
