Hosa Technology HDC-800 Dynamic Stereo Headphones Announced With Collapsible, Fold-Flat Design

January 07, 2010
Hosa Technology HDC-800 Dynamic Stereo Headphones feature a collapsible, fold-flat design and closed earpieces.

Collapsible headphones are always a welcome accessory, and for the new Hosa Technology HDC-800 Dynamic Stereo Headphones ($50 MSRP), the fold-flat design is just one of the major pluses. The HDC-800 also feature closed earpieces that fit snugly around the ears, for a focused sound with big bass.

The headphones employ 40 mm drivers for linear frequency response that extends from 20 Hz through 20 kHz, and they have circumaural ear coupling that provides a rich low end. The gold-plated 3.5 mm stereo plug, 1/4-inch adaptor, extra-wide headband, and 10-foot cable, not to mention the price, make these headphones a nice choice for both critical and casual listening in the studio or while out and about with portable music players.

Expect the HDC-800 Dynamic Stereo Headphones to be available in the first quarter of 2010. For more details, visit hosatech.com.

All this press release

By: One of those annoying headphone people (not verified)

All this press release really says is Hosa is releasing a headphone at a low price point with all the advertised features of just about every other closed headphone at this price point. Not really news worthy.

Now if you get it in for a head to head comparison with Shure's, Sennheiser's and AKG's offerings, then there would be something.

Major plus for headphones...

By: Marshall (not verified)

To me, a "major plus" for headphones would be replaceable cords... in other words, the cord would plug into the headphones as well as into whatever device you're listening to... so that when the cord eventually fails, you could just buy a new cord and toss the old one. Either that, or manufacturers should make cords with wire in them that the average person can easily solder into a new plug. Ever tried to "fix" the cords that Sony uses for their V series headphones? That wispy wire with all the nylon or whatever it is they mix in with the actual wire makes fixing their cords a p.i.t.a. Sony does make replacement pads for the V-6 & V-9 headphones but you're on your own when the cord fails.
