House Ear Institute Gives Free Screenings At AES
The House Ear Institute had a very busy booth at AES in New York. They experienced record numbers of audio professionals and visitors who got free hearing screenings at the convention.
This year, around 700 people took advantage of the hearing screenings provided by Sound Partners hearing conservation education program. That's an increase of over 200 from last year.
Those that did not get screened received hearing health materials and ear plugs (over 7,000 pairs were distributed). Apparently, this year the crowd was more conscious of hearing issues than ever - the House Ear Institute ended up distributing all of their educational materials before the convention had wrapped up.
Marilee Potthoff, the marketing director of HEI was pleased with the turnout:
"We are thrilled with the turnout we got this year and grateful for the support we received from both Shure Incorporated and AES to help us provide this service to audio professionals attending the show ... We are committed to contributing to better hearing health for the audio industry and gratified that our expertise and services are so clearly appreciated by the AES members."
