Hutchins Guitars Brian Jones Signature Teardrop Guitar: Don't Cry For Me, Elmo Lewis
It seems fitting that the guitar played by Brian Jones during his tenure with The Rolling Stones was shaped like a tear. No, I'm not referring to his alleged gang-affiliations, but rather, the tortured life he lived, both before and after his international fame.
We won't get into that here, because there's enough bittersweet news pertaining to the availability of the Hutchins Guitars Brian Jones Signature Guitar. The good news is that the HGBJSG will be coming to the U.S. The bad news is that the total number of guitars to be made available is 37.*
The Hutchins Brian Jones model, developed in conjunction with the Brian Jones Trust, is based on the Vox Mark III that Jones played with the Stones. It features two Enthwistle**-designed single coil pickups, a three-position blade-style pickup selector. The 21-fret neck sports a rosewood fretboard and mother-of-pearl markers.
A copy of Jones's signature adorns the pickguard, and the basswood body is finished in Vintage White. $1200 gets you the guitar plus a tweed, hard-shell case. That's if you order in time, of course. Hutchins is already taking preorders, so unless you want to be the only shmoe at BriJoCon who's got the baroque-chemise with out the matching axe, you'd better get on that.

*in a row?!?!?
**not the one you're thinking of.
