Ibanez AF105F
DAN AGOSTO: Hi. Welcome to Gearwire.Com. We’re taking a look at the Ibanez Artcore AF105F. There is also an AF105 without the F that has two humbuckers embedded it. This one has a single floating humbucker. It’s an archtop guitar, hollow body. We have a natural finish on this one so you can see the flame maple body and also the flame maple pickguard, which is a nice little feature there. We got a five-piece maple and bubinga neck, we’ll take a look at the back of that, it’s set in, and on the other side we have 22, these are medium frets, this is a jazz guitar, and Artcore custom block inlays.
So, if we take a look at the headstock, you’ll see we got a cover for our truss rod, we got gold hardware, these are Ibanez tuners, closed back, and they got the nice little faux pearl pegs on there and of course the Ibanez log and a lightning bolt little logo there.
so, if we me move back on down, we take a look at the bridge, we got a fixed tailpiece bridge. Of course, with the -- you got intonation you can adjust here, and we got the tailpiece which I believe is rosewood with an inlay there, so this guitar has some nice cosmetic features as well as some tone as we’ll hear in a little bit. And speaking of tone, we have the IBZ custom floating pickups, so this is special for Jazz. We just have one pickup but so it’s a pretty much just a one-trick pony guitar but it does the trick pretty well.
Let’s take a listen. We got the volume knob and the tone knob all the way up on here.

Okay. I’m going to try turning the tone knob down a bit, actually turn it down all the way and see what kind of tone we get out of.

All right, so we got a nice jazz tone for fingerpick style. I’m going to back a little bit and just play a little more.

All right, and with the AF105F, you also get a custom case, molded case for it. It’s gray and a nice look to it, kind of blends with our carpet. So that’s what you get with the AF105F. Thanks for checking this guitar out with us here at Gearwire.Com.
