Ibanez AF2 Paul Gilbert Airplane Flanger Has Two Modes: Vintage Flanging / Unusable Noise (Video)

It may be billed as a dual-mode effect, but the Takeoff mode on the Ibanez AF2 Paul Gilbert Flanger is really just a preset self-oscillating feedback noise, albeit one where you can control the speed. As a special effect it's neat, but as guitar signal processor it's more like an in-sink garbage disposal.
Still, as you can hear, the Taxi (or normal) mode on the AF2 Airplane Flanger is a superb, liquid, vintage sounding effect, with enough control and tonal variety to satisfy the 80s-era shredder living inside each and ever one of us. Even if he / she can't shred (I'm looking at you, Owen).
