Ibanez Unveils Some Puzzling Finishes On New RG Limited Edition Models
IBANEZ REPRESENTATIVE: Okay. This is a series of limited edition RG S guitars and SR basses for 2006, and up top we have a what's called a Barbecue RG. The finish is actually burnt on to a mahogany body, so it's very -- basically a barbecue. [INDISCERNIBLE] DiMarzio pickups and this is a neck through body RG guitar up here.
The necks too, this is a new process. We call these Jigsaw Puzzle RG guitars, and it's actually two different kinds of wood. The first particular one we have a flame maple and a quilted maple. And once again, it's an RG guitar, DiMarzio pickups, and this one is an [SOUNDS LIKE] oven volwood, and a flame maple RG guitar with DiMarzio pickups as well.
The fourth one on the list is a S body guitar, a thin mahogany body. It has a -- It looks like a simulated leather type of finish and it's the first time that we have actual sound chambers built into the guitar to give it a much warmer, hollow, transparent sound in this S body guitar.
The next one is a Prestige bass, which is a maple and bubinga Prestige neck through body and Bartolini pickups in there in the Soundgear body style which has the [SOUNDS LIKE] Fender neck through there and a very balanced [SOUNDS LIKE] body and sound.
