Ibanez S470DXQM
DAN AGOSTO: Hello, and welcome to Gearwire. Today we're taking a look at the Ibanez S470DXQM. This in a transparent lavender. This is a 25.5" scale guitar. We have a mahogany body, and if we look on the back we can actually see on this one you can see the grain of the mahogany and the quilted maple top. We have a three-piece maple neck and it's a bolt on. On top of that, we got a bound rosewood fingerboard, it has 22 jumbo frets, and the inlays on here you can see these are specific to this guitar. These are the S470DX special inlays. We move on up, we see a locking bridge as this has a floating tremolo and truss rod adjustment, string tree. This is like a string tree, crosses all of the string, sort of an Ibanez thing that they do. Of course, six inline Ibanez tuners.
We move back on down and take a look at the bridge. This is a floating ZR bridge. It's kind of an interesting bridge, a lot of adjustments you can do. We don't have the tremolo bar in there but it would go right there. We got individual fine tuners, and if we take a look on the back we see that there's actually a string tension adjuster right here, so you can sort of adjust the amount of tension on your strings using the bridge, which is sort of an interesting thing you don't see on all guitars.
Okay, if we take a look at the pickups, we have Infinity Series pickups. This is an INF1, INFS1, and an INF2 humbucker. We also have two tone knobs -- I'm sorry -- one tone knob, one volume knob across all the pickups, and this would be what the first humbucker sounds like, the neck pickup, the INF1.

This is a sort of a mellow sound. We can back up on the tone a little bit.

All right. Let's bring in this single coil. So, this is the second position, neck humbucker and middle single coil.

Let's check out the single coil position. This is a pretty mellow single coil from what I've heard.

All right. Let's try the neck -- oh, I'm sorry -- the bridge pickup and the single coil.

We start to get a little bit more of like a thinner sound out of that position, and let's try the humbucking bridge pickup.

Now you can see it went a little out of tune. These aren't really exactly new strings but it did go a little out of tune. The bridge system may not be set up correctly on this guitar. So, this is what you get when you buy the guitar. It doesn't come with the case but you'd have to get yourself a gig back or an Ibanez case to carry this.
So thanks for checking it out. This is the S47DXQM.
