IK Multimedia Black 76 And IK Multimedia White 2A: New Mixing Add-Ons For T-RackS
Expand your T-RackS sound set with two new mixing plugins from IK Multimedia: Black 76 and White 2A. Available as add-ons to T-RackS, Black 76 and White 2A come as single plugins for most major DAWs, or integrated within the new 64-bit T-RackS suite of mixing and mastering processors.
As their names indicate, these T-RackS mixing plugins are modeled on two leading analog compressors -- the Black 76 Limiting Amplifier and the White 2A Leveling Amplifier.
According to IK, Black 76 is modeled after what is probably the most used, most known, most wanted, and most universally recognized compressor / limiter in the audio industry. "The engineers that made this FET based compressor reached a level of cleverness and magic that only true visionary geniuses can achieve." While there are many revisions of this hardware, IK Multimedia modeled the LN version, revision E, because it's the one that has the most sonically recognized and wanted character, thanks to its input transformer and Class-A output stage.
You can use the Black 76 compressor on everything from drums, drum sub-mixes, vocals, bass, and guitars to piano, choirs, brass, strings, and other instruments. About the plugin, IK Multimedia said, "[It] adds its sonic footprint to the sound that for many reasons simply makes music sound better. Vocals, for example, will gain presence, consistency, clarity, and punch in a way simply not obtainable with other units. Drums will gain power and density with total control over the level of 'snap,' and guitars will get a magic midrange zone that makes them truly sing." With the stereo linked version provided with the MS option, Black 76 can also be used for mastering.
The White 2A Leveling Amplifier is based on the entirely tube-based, vintage unit. Though it was originally intended for use in broadcasting, it became a signature unit for music recording and mixing. The modeled version, now available, may be used for tracking and mixing vocals, as well as on electric bass, upright bass, piano, winds, and other tracks where you need a gentle compression with great warmth and consistency.
Both Black 76 and White 2A are available as single T-RackS mixing plugins for all major DAW platforms in RTAS, AU, and VST formats. In addition, they may be integrated with the T-RackS suite of effects, since they can be opened inside the T-RackS 12-slot, serial-parallel processor chain, both in standalone and plugin modes. With the addition of these two new classics, T-RackS users will have a total of 12 dynamic and EQ effects to choose from, including a complete professional metering suite. T-RackS and all its effect processors have been updated to version 3.5, now supporting all 64-bit DAWs. The update is available as a free download to all existing T-RackS 3 Deluxe, Standard, shell and Singles users.
IK Multimedia' Black 76 and White 2A are now available for $99.99 each. For more information, visit t-racks.com.
