TONY GRUND: Hi. My name is Tony Grund with IK Multimedia, and today we're going to talk a little bit about SampleMoog. It is the new Moog anthology synthesizer workstation from IK Multimedia, Moog Music, and Sonic Reality. This is part of our Sonic Instrument line of plugins. First of all, it's a Moog anthology, so you're getting 16 Moog keyboards in one area. All right, so a couple of key things about it, it's powered by the Sampletank engine so you've got the workstation plugin so you can use it exactly how you use Sampletank. I mean it's if you know to use Sampletank, you know how to use our other workstations, you'll feel right at home inside of SampleMoog over here. And now what does that add for you? Not only are you getting the 16 Moog keyboards in here but you're also getting the 32 DSP based effects from Sampletank. You're getting four effects per instrument. You're getting all the crazy filters and stuff that Sampletank has in it, the ease of use and the ability to combine all your sounds in combis and easily save them and recall them, which I a really important feature.

One thing I like to think about with it is that, you know, an oscillator is -- it makes the sound of your keyboard, right? So in here you can really think about it like you got 16 oscillators because you kind of have 16 instruments loaded up at once and playing which can create some really, really amazing sounds you're going to hear in a second here. But, getting back into the Moogs that are included, we have included all the classic Moogs from the 1970s: Minimoog, the Modular Moog, the Polymoog, and the Taurus pedal. Now, are you familiar with the Taurus pedal? Right. The Taurus pedal was a bass pedal. It's a one-octave pedal that used a special oscillator in it that nobody, for some reason, it's not really around so much, and it has a really unique bass sound to it, and we've totally captured that here. It's really, really cool.

Then we've also got your, you know, you got your Multimoog, the Prodigy, and all the way down here to the 2006, the Little Phatty and the Voyager, so you've got all the classic stuff up to the new stuff as well, right? That's pretty sick.

And then my feature that I like a whole lot is you got the combis that we've set up. there's, you know, hundreds of combis in here for like bass sounds.

Right. Really, really fat bass, right? It's awesome. Now, one of the other cool things about the SampleMoog is that the Moog keyboards have a different legato feel to them than like Sampletank has initially, so we've done is we've actually taken that legato feel that the Moog keyboards have and we've applied it into here. So, if you're used to playing on the classic Moog keyboards, you're not going to have any difference playing on this. It's going to feel exactly the same as the classic Moog keyboards, which I think is really important for the guys like, I don't know, yourself. If you've got some Moog keyboards at home or in your studio and then, you know, you get used to playing some stuff on there, you're not going to have relearn how to play. You know, you're not going to have to relearn the feel for this, which is kind of cool.

And then the other cool thing about it is because of the combis and everything, you're not only getting the fat lead sounds. This lead sound is crazy.

Right. You've got some crazy leads but then you also have some really cool ethereal pad sounds. This one's really nice. I like this one a lot.
