Inspired Instruments You Rock Guitar Winter NAMM 2010 Video

Guitarists may have some pretty heated opinions about games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but just about any musician should be able to get behind the new You Rock Guitar. It functions as a standalone instrument and a MIDI controller, as well as the most realistic guitar game controller around. We got the full picture on the You Rock Guitar from the company at Winter NAMM 2010.

MIDI?

By: Wheat Williams (not verified)

Pretty funny that he would wait until the very end to mention that it's also a MIDI controller. That would be the main attraction for professional guitarists.

Spot On

A very small mention of MIDI functionality, which is likely the main appeal of this instrument for people that watch videos from NAMM. Could be a fun tool if you are a better guitar player than keyboard player.

Seriously, you jest

In order to turn a profit they HAVE to turn product. They can sell more of these to existing gamers then to the guitar market. It's their "In"

Some professional guitarists are scared of the "M' word with good reason. 13pin systems are crap and expect to shuck out close to three grand for a decent ztar. Then expect to take a lot of time to learn the instrument. Then expect to take a lot more gear to a gig for the midi conversion.
50 quality guitar sounds built in. Compare that to buying 50 guitars then hauling them to a gig. or paying up the zinyang for a parker adrian belew model because you have to be a giant to play a variax.
it's cheaper then most entry level guitars, it's very portable. it tracks like a ztar not a roland.
