The flood gates break open as iZotope joins the iPhone and iPod Touch application game with iDrum. This beat making application makes perfect sense though as iZotope and iPhone both start with the same uncapitalized letter.

iZotope CTO Jeremy Todd had this to say about the new beat-making Apple app:

Getting simultaneously nittier and grittier, the iDrum allows you to combine pro-quality sounds into patterns. It takes advantage of the iPhone's features like virtual pad tapping, Etch-A-Sketch style shaking to clear patterns and sliding and flicking navigation. iZotope adds colorful visuals to display the relationship between sounds so that users can create rhythms solely based on visual patterns if they so choose. When you're done with your beat, you can even use it as your ring tone.

The iDrum application is an adaptation of the original iDrum software for Mac and PC. The first two editions coming to your iGadget of choice are Hip Hop Edition and Club Edition. iZotope plans on releasing more genres of beat making bliss.
