What do a French-born artisan-luthier and and independent electronica DJ/Producer have in common? They both live in L.A. That's really all the justification needed to start a collaborative business venture, these days, especially in LaLaLand.

V-MODA is a "Lifestyle Brand" that specializes in "High Fashion and High Fidelity," founded by DJ / Producer Val Kolton. So far, the fashion side of things includes a few fedoras ad some t-shirts, and the fidelity side of the business is a line of semi-pro "in-ear monitor headphones" -- basically gussied up earbuds (though they've gotten some pretty decent consumer reviews).

James Trussart you probably know better, as he's been featured in these virtual-pages more than once, and we try and stop by his booth at every NAMM (sorry we missed you this year, James). He specializes in all-steel guitars and basses that have found they ways into the hands of some pretty big-named players, and the guitars themselves are each truly one-of-a-kind works of art.

The two collaborated on a collection of six Trussart / V-MODA guitars, and they're on display on the V-MODA website. Thing is, there's no description of the individual guitars, and as they each kinda look like other guitars Trussart has made, no way of telling what input (if any) V-MODA has had on these "collaborations." Nor do we know what the price is, though we can assume they're going to be up there (Trussarts typically start in the $4000+ range).

So, good on Mr. Trussart for getting some additional exposure, and good on V-MODA for recognizing a true audio artist. And that's all I'll say about that.
