Jon Kammerer's JKG Model 19 Guitar At The Chicago Guitar Show
Jon Kammerer is one guy who pays a lot of attention to detail. In this video, we look at his 5 pound Model 19 hollow body electric guitar, designed to get a bigger hollow body sound out of a smaller instrument. It features two mini humbucker pickups, both coil taps so you can get a single coil tone if you want.

Like all Kammerer guitars, the Model 19 is custom made. A variety of stains are available, and you can choose your wood & fretboard radius. If you're going all out for a custom instrument, Jon Kammerer Guitars is definitely a source to consider.

See and hear more about a Kammerer guitar's aesthetic and acoustic quality in the Gearwire video.

ROB WARMOWSKI: Hey everybody. It’s Rob Warmowski for Gearwire.com and I’m here with Jon Kammerer here at the Chicago Guitar Show. This is a event focusing on custom guitars, and Jon is here. Jon is the owner of JKG Guitars and chief luthier. How are you doing, Jon?

JON KAMMERER: I’m doing fine, Rob. Thank you.

ROB WARMOWSKI: He’s showing us right now one of the hollow-body electric models that he’s designed. Tell us a little bit about what we’re looking at here.

JON KAMMERER: This here is a hollow-body electric guitar. It’s designed to get a bigger hollow-body sound but out of a smaller body, combining a light weight and versatility of tone. It’s about five pounds and has two humbucker, mini-humbucker pickups, so they’re both coil taps so you can get a single coil tone out of it.

ROB WARMOWSKI: And what kind of tones would we get out of this?

JON KAMMERER: You can get everything from a hard, heavy rock sound out of it to a nice twangy acoustic guitar sound.

ROB WARMOWSKI: I forgot to ask the model number.

JON KAMMERER: This one is a model 19 too, and it’s basically, like all my other guitars, I don’t have actual model names on them but they are available on the web site.

ROB WARMOWSKI: Very compact design. What kind of woods are we looking at.

JON KAMMERER: This one here is a flame maple body with an oak stain, and it’s also available in different colors of stain and you can also pick and choose your woods, fretboard radiuses, and a multitude of other options to make the guitar exactly the way you like it.

ROB WARMOWSKI: And is this a mother-of-pearl inlay?

JON KAMMERER: This one is also abalone shell on this one.

ROB WARMOWSKI: Oh, abalone. Sorry. Yes. Well, it looks awesome. We’re looking forward to hearing it.

JON KAMMERER: Thank you.

ROB WARMOWSKI: I’m Rob for Gearwire.Com.
