At the 2011 NAMM Show, KK Audio Labs introduced the DS-6, a new six-inch, two-way powered studio reference monitor for the DS Series of monitors.

The high-res DS-6 monitor speaker features a six-inch, low-frequency driver that uses proprietary composite cone material, along with a one-inch, custom-designed titanium composite high-frequency tweeter. According to KK Audio Labs, its amplifier modules deliver 200W to the tweeter and 350W to the woofer, respectively.

KK Audio Labs' DS-6 joins the DS-8 eight-inch, two-way powered monitor in the DS Series. Monitors in this series have four tuned presets that may be used to optimize the monitor for any listening environment.

Moreover, the new DS-6 reference monitor sports balanced XLR inputs for connection to professional mixing consoles, computer audio interfaces, audio-visual equipment, and consumer audio systems; and handling of a frequency range of 44 Hz to 22 kHz (+/- 2 dB) with a maximum peak sound pressure level (SPL) of greater than 111 dB (per pair) of music power.

The DS-6 also includes the company's proprietary Acoustic Cabinet Control (ACCT) technology in the cabinet design and features a linear and quick transient response, along with low distortion, according to the manufacturer. The enclosure measures 13.9" (H) x 12.6" (W) x 12.9" (D) and is constructed from very high density MDF with a custom gray finish. Each unit weighs 25 lbs.
