Korg Electribe-MX SD And Korg Electribe-SX SD Pattern-Based Music Production Stations Debut

March 24, 2010
Korg Electribe-MX SD (EMX-1 SD) and Korg Electribe-SX SD (ESX-1 SD) are new pattern-based music production stations.

Now with artist-created patterns and SD card data storage, the Korg Electribe pattern-based music production station is back and better than before in two new models: the Electribe-MX SD (EMX-1 SD) and the Electribe-SX SD (ESX-1 SD).

Both music stations feature patterns by Ninja Tune / Big Dada artists like Emika and the Anti-Pop Consortium, as well as Shrikednb (Tom Thorpe), Denkitribe, and Scribej.

Convenient SD / SDHC card storage allows up to 32 GB of sound, pattern, song, and sample data to be saved on an individual card -- a nice feature that enables an entire live show’s worth of data to be saved on a single card.

The EMX-1 SD and the ESX-1 SD sport the same ease-of-use and advanced features that the Electribe is known for. According to Korg, track-making is intuitive, and vacuum tubes deliver tube saturation and overdrive to taste. The EMX-1 SD uses Korg’s Multiple Modeling Technology sound engine to provide sixteen types of tone generation. Likewise, the ESX-1 SD offers editing features that let you sample and modify sounds in real-time.

Features common to both models include twin vacuum tube Valve Force circuitry, three stereo effects that can be chained together, filters and timbral modulation, a built-in step sequencer, the Motion Sequence function that captures and replays knob movements, an arpeggiator, ribbon controller, slider, and Auto BPM Detection.

The Korg Electribe EMX-1 SD and ESX-1 SD will be available in June, 2010 for $750 MSRP each.

They increased just the storage memory, the flash memory is only 50 mb like the original so this SD is absolutely useless cause you need to loaded again if you want more samples. and limit is the same 100 mono + 50 stereo. Stupid move Korg!!!!!

By: Gary (not verified)

They are just milking the same product for cash. They really think they are being clever. Nope. Massive fail. It's high time for a new product entirely. Korg you are a bunch of capitalistic worms who have lost your gear magic long ago. Korg just make a bunch of gay products for kids and Trancers.
