Korg K61P: Bill Declares The Extended Soundbank Open For Exploratory Drilling

July 08, 2008
Korg K61P Sound Banks

Most MIDI controllers have very few, if any, built-in sound patches, which is why Bill has been lobbying to lift restrictions on sound banks two and three of the new Korg K61P controller keyboard. How many Herbie Hancock tribute groups have to needlessly suffer before we, as a community, do the right thing?

The next Korg K61P video will have Bill getting into the included M1LE software. That's right: even more sounds.

Well, that was just scratching the surface of this controller. You'll notice our switches and knobs over here and an XY controller. I'm going to get into those in the next demo where I take a look at the software included with the K61P, which is the Korg M1 LE, a basic version of their M1 software which emulates the classic Korg M1 module. But for now, I'm Bill Holland and you've been watching Gearwire.Com.

I need awesome gear... I'd like a free gear catalog!
My opinion is awesome. I'd like to take a gear survey
