Korg MicroKORG XL: More, And Yet Less Of A Synth Than The Radius And R3
January 21, 2009
We made a hasty bee-line for the Korg booth at Winter NAMM 2009 to get out grubby mitts on the new MircoKORG XL. This MicroKORG revision effectively blends the old with the new; you can call forth the ghosts of the The Radius and R3, you can get all analog or crazy digital. . . you can even summon the spirit of Peter Frampton. He's dead, right?
It also has great looking knobs -- always a plus in Southern California.

How much?
How much?
can't say
but it's looking like it's going to fall in between the microkorg and the r3.
Well...
Searched the net and on GC will be $499.99 and will be available on 02/02/09
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
wow...
Thi is by far the best short presentation that I've ever seen!
Video Clip
Short, to the point and holy Cardioids! You can hear the presenter and the Micro Korg XL above the din!
Respect
thanks!
I used a sennheiser wireless lav on the presenter and a radial DI on the microkorgxl. Only critique I might have of it is that the preamps on the camera didn't like the bass so there was a little digital clipping.
keys
full sized keys?
no
if you have fat fingers, stay away from this one. much better than the microkorg though.
Difference with R3?
What's the difference between this and the R3?
The XL is missing formant
The XL is missing formant motion, a mod sequencer, and arpeggiator step buttons. It's also battery operated.
