Korg AudioGate Version 2.0 For MR-Series Recorders: "So Easy, Even You Can Do It," Says Needlessly Belligerent Man
Affordable DSD 1-bit recording and archiving for all applications is possible with Korg's MR series of digital recorders, and now it's made even more accesible and flexible with the release of Korg Audiogate 2.0, a file management and conversion software.
AudioGate 2.0 has new file editing tools. Normalize is among this new set of tools which allows file export at the highest level without clipping. With improved peak level metering and an increase of output range from 24 dB to 60 dB plus the new Normalize tool, your can boost the volume levels of your audio files high yet maintaining a distortion-free audio quality. In terms of digital format conversion, version 2.0 incorporates TPDF dithering as well as Korg's own "AQUA" dithering that closely follows the human hearing range for more musical and natural sounding results.
As it is capable of DSD recording, AudioGate 2.0 can be used to create DSD audio discs such as the SACD format. As the DSD recording standard is at a significantly higher fidelity than standard CD format, Korg espouses 1-bit recording as future proof and perfect for archiving. In addition to 1-bit DSD/DSF and multi-bit BWAV formats, AudioGate 2.0 can now import and export FLAC files, WMA files can be imported in the Mac version, MP3 and WMA can be exported from Windows, and Apple Lossless can be exported from Mac. AudioGate 2.0 can also be loaded directly with tracks from audio CDs with support for embedded images as well.
MR-Series owners can download AudioGate 2.0 free of charge via Korg's web site.
