BRIAN LOUDENSLAGER: Hi. My name is Brian Loudenslager, and I'm the founder of Lauten Audio. I'm here today to talk to you about the Oceanus LT-381, whci is designed to be our vocal microphone.

So what is unique about this microphone are several things. One, it has a large -- extra-large diaphragm, side-terminated capsule. It is dual diaphragm and variable between omni and figure eight with nine steps. The capsule is mounted on a floating rubber piece so it is shock mounted in itself. The microphone also comes with a custom-made shock mount which securely supports the microphone because this Oceanus is a bit heavier than other studio microphones so we needed to make sure we paid attention to the tightening mechanism, the wing nut, and things like that.

Something very unique about this microphone is the circuit, so you think mono block tube amplifier as the gain stage, so there's a pentode tube and a mono signal coming out of that, and we use a transistor phase splitter, and we use a transistor phase splitter and it goes out to a triode vacuum tube with no op amp or transformer between the mic and the output or preamp.

This microphone, as I mentioned is targeted as our vocal microphone and we've already had great success from a producer in LA. For instance, Doug Grean used it on Scott Weiland's most recent solo record, and that's our first claim to fame here within the past couple of weeks.
