LEMUR Guitar Bot Is Back: Who Wants To Play

October 29, 2007
The Return Of Guitar Bot

LEMUR's Guitar Bot is back, and as you can tell from the picture on the left, has captured two innocent bystanders in his clutches. Of course, if you don't buy into the whole man vs. machine issue, check out the video, and you might see Guitar Bot in action, sharpening his robotic chops to achieve a truly unique stringed sound that has almost a spooky carnival feel to it.

... or you might just see brutal mayhem and chaos. Feel free to take your chances.

ERIC SINGER: [SOUNDS LIKE] Now, at the end of the tour, we're actually visiting the first instrument that we ever created. It's the one that I personally vested the most effort into. It's called the Guitar Bot

And being our first robot, it's showing some signs of aging at this point, and we are working on Guitar Bot Model II which will incorporate, you know, seven years of robotics building knowledge into it.

But this instrument still works and people are still composing for it, and I'll have it play a piece by [PH] Brendan Adamson, a composition student, graduate of Juilliard School of Music who I met when we were on a concert together and he was composing for player pianos.
