LePou Plugins LeXTAC: New Three-Channel Digital Amp Effect Plugin
In the heart of winter, LePou Plugins designers have been turning their thoughts to the West coast, dreaming up LeXTAC, a new plugin based on a boutique amplifier from California. LePou has announced that LeXTAC is now readily available as a free VST effect plugin for PC users.
All of LeXTAC's channels have a gain boost and a three-position Pre EQ switch that lets you choose from Normal, Bright, or Brighter. The higher you set the gain control, the less effect the Pre EQ will have on the sound.
Channel 1 (Clean / Yellow) and Channels 2 and 3 (Blue and Red) offer gain, bass, middle, treble, contour, power amp gain volume, three-position pre EQ, and gain boost.
Further, Channel 2 and Channel 3 have two other switches, Plexi and Structure, that provide a different gain or tone. The Plexi is a lower gain channel than the normal Blue and Red ones, and it can be assigned to either Channel 2 or Channel 3. LePou notes that the Structure switch and Gain Boost switch are both inactive in Plexi mode. Meanwhile, the Structure is an overall gain reduction switch for Channels 2 and 3. When ON (in the high position), both Channels 2 and 3 have less gain; when OFF (in the down position), the preamp will have more gain.
LeXTAC may be downloaded for free from the LePou Plugins Web site.
