LightWing AxeGlove: Yes, But Is There A Magnum Size For My (*ahem*) P-Bass?
We all know THAT guitar: the once-foxy relic that could have remained museum-grade, but just couldn't say no to the droves of self-proclaimed virtuosos who were just looking for a quick arpeggio or one-night shred. So sad. If only that guitar had known about AxeGlove.
Like the redundant combination of a prophylactic and turtleneck sweater, the AxeGlove from Lightwing Studios offers doubly-potent protection from "Buckle Rash," "Pick Pocks," "Stand Bump," "Tapper's Blem," and other unsavory "communicable" damage! The two-piece, form fitting system encompasses both the neck and body of solid body electric guitars, and offers protection against wall hanger and guitar stand finish damage, minimizes belt buckle abrasions, and provides overall protection to 90 percent of the instrument. It even absorbs sweat and moisture -- not to mention, it's machine washable. No one will ever know exactly what you were up to last night.
Here's the clincher: you can keep it on your guitar even while you're playing. And c'mon, you really want to leave all that sexy behind when you and your axe get ready for action? There's even a guitar pick storage pocket within inches of the players hand and "tastefully positioned" cutaways provide unimpeded access to all controls and inputs. Whew -- that's some steamy stuff.
The custom, design for each model body/neck thru its unique two layer construction when fully deployed. The AxeGlove will be initially offered for Gibson SG, Les Paul Standard, Custom, Deluxe & Double Cutaway models, as well as Fender Stratocaster & Telecaster guitars.

nice
yeah very good idea, maybe we should cover up our amps and cabinets and even drums. why not wear them our selves! we then will be scratch resistant!!
AMAZING !!!
I live in Central Florida and went to the Guitar Expo there this weekend after seeing this on the web.
The guy from LightWing did a great job of demonstrating the product to a crowd gathered around
theiir booth. Everyone was sceptical of course but
then at the end he took the Les Paul Custom he was using and banged the edge it 3 or 4 times against the
table edge. People were shocked that he'd do that to a $3,000 guitar to say the least. Then he pulled the
AxeGlove off and handed the guitar around to people.
There wasn't a SCRATCH ON IT!
Absolutely AMAZING !!! They sold 5 AxeGlove' on the spot !
I even bought one for my Les Paul Classic. After I got home I tried it on and it works great. I have to go and get them for my Strat and Tele now.
Why didn't anyone think of this before?
IT'S ABOUT TIME !!!!
AMAZING that it only took nearly 60 (SIXTY) years of abuse to our beloved axes before someone FINALLY developed a SIMPLE way to protect a guitar !!:)
... Well, ACTUALLY, there was a company called
"GI-TARD INC." back in the early 1990's that made nylon spandex guitar covers that slide over an axe. They were washable & came in assorted wild colors & patterns.
Unfortunately ... the company is no longer to be found. Couldn't find squat on the Web.
There's also the "Guitar Sock" that fits over the entire neck of the guitar, but it does nothing to protect the body.)
So FORTUNATELY, AxeGlove revives Gi-Tard's concept.
(I'm surprised Planet Waves of other companies didn't come up with something like this years ago....)
BRAVO to the folks at AxeGlove!!! I'll Definitely be ordering one for my Gibson SG Supreme.
I can see Instrument Shops jumping all over this, ordering in bulk. Now they won't have to ask test pilots to remove their zippered jackets, for fear of scratching an expensive axe.
Luthiers would also want to use AxeGlove during repair work.
ONE CONCERN THOUGH ...
WHAT'S THE MATERIAL ON THE INSIDE OF THE GLOVE,
AND WILL IT REACT WITH NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER?!!!
(I'm sure AxeGlove has considered this, but I'd like to know before buying.
Probably it's cotton, which should be fine.)
AxeGlove
I'm from France and bought an AxeGlove for my Telecaster.
What a GREAT product and to answer your question its made of cotton flannel...TWO layers that really protect my pride and joy!
The people at AxeGlove gave me excellent service and shipped to me very quickly...my guitar is on their website. :)
You can find it at http://www.axeglove.com
AX GLOVE
