PROMO GIRLS: You're watching Gearwire.Com. [LAUGHING]

MARK MCCRITE: I’m Mark McCrite from Line 6, and I’m here to talk about the new version of RiffWorks software. This is a product that co-developed with Sonoma Wire Works and it’s available as a direct online download for any POD, GuitarPort, or TonePort device, and in addition it’s sold in stores as a bundle called the GuitarPort RiffTracker Package. GuitarPort RiffTracker includes a GuitarPort along with RiffWorks software. And for those of you that don’t already know, Riffworks software is the easiest way to capture your ideas if you’re a guitar player and you’re looking for a recording application. Basically, if you plug your guitar in and you fire up the Gearbox software that comes with GuitarPort and you hit record, after a couple of minutes you pretty much got a song recorded, and that’s the whole idea. It’s very simple operation. No menus, no preferences, no nothing. Everything is right here. What you see is what you get.

Now once you’ve recorded your ideas and you’ve dragged them into a song, it gives you the ability to mix down to your disk. Now, this is something that GuitarPort RiffTracker and the RiffWorks software have always done, but some of the things that we’ve added for the new version is that you can now publish your results to a RiffCast, which means that you hit this button and the song that you have just recorded gets published online to a web site so you can share it with your friends and family, and in addition it gets published to a podcast that you can subscribe to and everyone who’s using the RiffWorks application will have their results published in this podcast.

The other big news for GuitarPort RiffTracker and RiffWorks software is that it’s now Mac compatible, and you can see that it’s running on an Intel Mac right now with GuitarPort. It’s also news the GuitarPort runs on the Mac, and it’s available on the Line 6 web site as a downloadable update. It costs $29.99 to update from RiffWorks 1 to RiffWorks 2 if you’re an existing user, although if you’ve only been using the software since February it’s a free update, and when you buy the software in stores or if you download the full version, it’s the same price that it’s always been. That’s a $99 update to add to any Line 6 device, or if you want to buy the GuitarPort RiffTracker package in stores, you’ll find it for about a $189 street price.
