Line 6 M9: An Attempt To Simplify Versatility

Line 6 M9

How many times have you had difficulty setting up your pedalboard for your various bands? It is not unusual for one guitarist to have a distinct setup for a death metal band then have another one for that top-of-to-pops hit-playing group. What's worse is that getting those setups configured is a time-consuming hassle. The Line 6 M9 Stompbox Modeler aims to provide you with that all-in-one handy solution you need.

The M9 can be viewed as a library of stompboxes with its collection of various vintage and modern tones ranging from distortions, reverbs, and modulation effects. This portable hardware stompbox rig allows you to run three effects simultaneously with any three others on deck, the type of effects on board as well as their arrangement in a chain is entirely up to you to develop. You can create up to 24 different "scenes" or effects arrangements. If you're into live looping ala Robert Fripp and his Frippertronics system, the M9 also has that 28-second looper which is controllable via dedicated footswitches. This thing also provides an ample of inputs and outputs (both mono or stereo), two expression pedal inputs, and a MIDI in and out port to allow for seamless integration with your MIDI and analog gear (such as your other pedalboard setups).

FEATURES

  • Over 100 stompbox effects
  • Run up to 3 effects simultaneously (with 3 more on deck)
  • Dedicated knobs control each effect parameter
  • Create up to 24 pedal board scenes. (It's like having 24 fully tricked-out pedal boards available at any time!)
  • Universal tap tempo syncs all your time-based effects
  • 28-second looper with dedicated footswitches (Record/Overdub, Play/Stop, Play Once, Undo/Redo, Half Speed, Reverse)
  • Built-in chromatic tuner
  • Heavy-duty all-metal chassis and footswitches
  • Included AC power adapter
  • MIDI in/out
  • 1/4" mono or stereo inputs
  • 1/4" mono or stereo outputs
  • Two 1/4" expression pedal jacks
  • True Analog Bypass or DSP Bypass

The Line 6 M9 save you the time you would spend pulling out one or more stompboxes out of your pedalboard just for the sake of changing your rig for your various bands. By just choosing the appropriate "scene", the M9 allows for you to adjust to various situations in no time much like a session guitarist would with the various acts that he/she plays along with. The Line 6 M9 is now shipping worldwide with an MSRP of 559.99 USD.
