Line 6 POD Studio KB37: Be Both The Guitar And The Keyboard Hero You've Always Dreamed Of
Guitarists can easily record to computer via any number of USB audio interfaces, and keyboardists have a plethora of different USB MIDI Controllers from which to chose. But what about that rarer, albeit still common breed of musician who plays both guitar and keyboard? The new Line 6 POD Studio KB37 -- now shipping -- caters to all the guiteyboardists out there by combining an controller, interface, and Line 6 POD Studio amp modeling software. You're welcome.
About two years ago, Line 6's concept of the keyboard USB MIDI controller and audio interface for keyboardists who double as guitarists or guitarists who'd like to also have keyboard control came to reality in the Toneport KB37. While Toneport KB37 is no longer being produced, Line 6 resurrected their keyboard controller/audio interface via the release of POD Studio KB37. What's so different between the two? For one thing, POD Studio now comes with POD Farm, their latest tone and effects plugin suite, which is bound to replace GearBox. Other than that, you can expect the same specifications as the Toneport KB37 such as two balanced XLR equipped mic preamps, S/PDIF digital input, a 1/4" guitar input port, 1/4" analog outs, expression pedal jacks, and the capability to record at up to 24-bit/96 kHz resolution.
The Line 6 POD Studio KB37 has a list price of $489.99. If you are that keyboardist who plays guitar or, conversely, a guitarist who needs keyboard control, you'll get everything you need in the KB37 to simplify your computer-based recording setup. Besides, while a having a POD Studio KB37 won't instantly turn you into that guitar-hero / keyboard-wizard hybrid, a lot of clutter lying around won't turn you into that either.

Are you planning a walkthru of the Line 6 POD Studio KB37? I would love to see one, especially of the software because it's not clear from the Line 6 info what the software will or won't do. Thanks
