Logidy UMI3 USB MIDI Foot Controller Features Three Foot Switches, Expression Pedal Input, And More
For those who have better control over their feet than their hands, Logidy has introduced its first product offering, the UMI3 ($49.95 MSRP) USB MIDI foot controller.
Housed in a rugged steel box, the UMI3 features three configurable foot switches, an input for an expression pedal, and USB connectivity. Its USB connection eliminates the need for drivers, and makes setting up MIDI devices a simple task.
According to the manufacturer, the foot controller behaves like a typical three-note keyboard, and it can also be configured to work with the MIDI mapping features of most digital audio workstations. Furthermore, the UMI3's setup panel can work as a step sequencer, in which the function of a given footswitch can be changed each time it is pushed or when another switch is pushed. Logidy notes that elaborate setups can be designed to trigger as many as 24 different MIDI events.
