Ludwig Accent CS Custom: Drumming It Up With The Cook County Ramblers
According to Ron Repple, the drummer for Cook County Ramblers, even though his Ludwig Accent CS Custom set is a very acceptable birch, he likes the sound of maple on drums.
Plus, with a maple kit, you can drill it for syrup if you're ever eating pancakes while laying down a beat.

JASON DONNELLY: Hey. It’s Jason Donnelly with Gearwire.Com, and we’re at Martyrs’ in Chicago, and we are here to see the Cook County Ramblers. This is Ron Repple. Ron, how are you doing sir?
RON REPPLE: It’s been great, man. What’s going on?
JASON DONNELLY: Not much. Okay, so what are you playing here?
RON REPPLE: This is an Accent CS Custom Ludwig birch set. It’s all birch wood, natural. I got Zildjian cymbals on everything. You know, it’s the custom medium crash, New Beat hi-hats, the ride is a crash-ride but it’s big and it’s Zildjian. It’s really good. It’s not bottom lines top.
JASON DONNELLY: Very cool.
RON REPPLE: Maple is probably the best when it comes to wood for a drum set but birch is definitely quality.
