M-Audio Black Box
September 25, 2006
Remember the days when USB recording interfaces merely did the job of, well, interfacing between the performer and the computer? M-Audio's Black Box doesn't. What used to be a plain vanilla pipeline for the purpose of capturing your guitar takes has itself become an audio source in the minds of M-Audio. The Black Box sports a drum machine, over a dozen amp sims plus effects processing to keep it busy while it passes your guitar signal. And really, can you believe nobody named a product the Black Box before this?
Check out the Black Box page.

M-AUDIO REPRESENTATIVE: And then lastly off at the top, we have Black Box, which is our full guitar interface recording system. So, it’s first of all a standalone product that allows you to record -- plug your guitar through and have effects processing, amp simulation (you have 14 different amps onboard). It’s got a great effects processor built into it, a drum machine built into it, and in addition to all that it’s also a full-on recording interface that you can plug it in USB into your computer, do any recording that you want to off of it, and then take it out and perform live with it as well.
