AES Vienna Vid: Mackie DS3232 Digital Stage Box
MACKIE REPRESENTATIVE: Hi. We’re at AES in Vienna, and I’m representing Mackie Designs in support of our Austrian distributor, [PH] Music Import, and we’re here to show some of the newer items that we’ve created at Mackie Designs, one of them is this new stage box, the DS3232, which works in conjunction with our TT24 console, which has been shipping for about two years. We will ship this into Europe, and it’s already shipping in the United States but it’ll be available in Europe next month, around June 15th, and over 300 feet of cat 5 Ethernet cable which is about 91 meters.
We have 32 additional inputs and 32 outputs controlled from the desk so I can control the level of my mic preamplifiers, I can put a pad on or off which is switchable by a relay. I can control the level of my outputs, everything directly from a console service, and I can leave this on the stage. It’s very simple to implement and to use. You simply insert a U100 network card in the back of this desk, which also allows the desk to link to another desk, and you have one gigantic desk functioning as one, or connect it to this via Ethernet and it just simply takes the Ethernet cable, you plug it in, and it’s automatically configured. There’s nothing else to do unless you want to switch where those inputs are going but it defaults to either analog or digital layer and the console is ready to go. So, it’s not very complicated at all and the whole entire system is scheduled to sell for just under 1,200 EUR including VAT and that’s subject to each distributor’s price but that’s about what we’re looking for.
