Said to be built like a tank, the new Mackie HD1501 and HD1801 subwoofers are like the Hummers of the sub world, offering Class-D Fast-Recovery amplifier technology, up to 1,600W of peak power, a compact and convenient size, and much more.

With custom transducer design and system tuning by EAW, both of the new HD Series subs provide a rich low end. The HD1501 ($1,099.99 MSRP) has a 15-inch woofer and is ideal for use with either the HD1521 or HD1531, while the HD1801 ($1,249.99) has an 18-inch woofer and would work well with systems using SRM450v2 Active Loudspeakers (or SRM350v2s). Both subs feature Mackie's active electronics.

More details about the HD Series powered subwoofers will be available when the HD1501 and HD1801 are officially released in April, 2010.
