LAZ HARRIS: So, one of the biggest improvements, one of the most anticipated feature of Tracktion 3 is the fact that we now support looping. And we support Acid Loops, Apple Loops, and REX files. So, it pretty much covers the, you know, the most popular looping styles that are currently in use. And one of the neat thins about Tracktion too, because it is dual-platform, you can now take your full collection of Apple Loops and actually use them on the PC. It’s actually one of the first programs that I know that will actually read and run Apple Loops on a PC.

We actually do a really neat thing. We’ve got a browser. It’s similar to some of the other programs like Ableton Live where you have a browser built in, but this, the Loop Browser, actually builds a database of all of your loops, and it categorizes them by name and by type, you know, by genre especially. So, you can actually click on bass and guitar, and all of your bass and guitar loops will actually show up in this window, or you can change your selection criteria. You can change it to just vocals, and then all of our vocal loops will actually show up here, and it will actually audition the loop at the BPM of your project.

It also, if there’s pitch information, it’ll actually audition the loop at the same pitch as your project. We’ve also included a new global marker track. I’m going to enlarge this here so you can see it a little better. We now have the ability to insert key change and time signature changes, and we also have region markers, and the region markers are actually set up like tabs so that they cover or that they actually extend for the entire length of the marked region. So, if I were to go ahead and zoom in here, notice that the markers ill scale to the actual size of the region in your project, which makes jumping through and navigating from one region to the next very, very easy.

The next biggest thing, and I think this is really exciting about Tracktion 2, is the third-party software that it’s going to come bundled with. We’re now bundling it with the latest version of Sampletank 2 and Amplitube as well as a huge complement of loops from Sonic Reality. There’s over 2,000 Apple Loops, there’s REX loops. We also are including a special Tracktion version of Submersible Music’ Drumcore. We’re also including the Garritan Personal Orchestra. There is a Tracktion 3 edition with over 800 MB of samples, and then we’re including a really good complement of Linplug plugins: The Alpha 3, the CronoX 3 synthesizers, and the RM IV drum module.

In addition to those plugins, there are a whole new batch of Mackie plugins. There’s a channel strip plugin, there’s EQ plugins and reverb plugins with all new skins that are a lot easier to see and read, and they look really nice on the screen. I can actually show you one here. This is probably my favorite. This panner, it’s a really nice automated panner, lots of really pretty blue. You can adjust the width, etc., of your -- of the panning field, etc. We also have a really nice -- Where did it go? Oh, it’s up here. A really nice EQ, etc., a nice six-band stereo EQ. And of course, these can all be controlled and from your C4.
